As a Vice President of Sales and Marketing she oversees all sales and marketing initiatives for Trans-Lucent throughout the US and Canada.
Barbara began her career in the Public Relations field and quickly used that knowledge to further her career in sales and marketing. Her first sales position was with American Express, where she spent several successful years as an account manager responsible for the acceptance of the American Express card at all types of merchants.
She then spent several years with Web MD, a leading web-based solution for healthcare providers. As District Manager, then Regional VP was instrumental in the growth of the web-based services to physicians and hospitals throughout the Southeast. To further her career in the industry, Barbara then joined MedUnite, another internet healthcare solution as VP of Sales for Provider Services, managing sales professionals across country.
Bit by the entrepreneurial bug, Barbara spent the next seven years as a co-owner of Coverall Interiors, a successful Home Interior Company supplying Window Blinds, Kitchens and Closet Systems to both local and national home builders such as US Home, Engle Homes, Pulte Homes and DR Horton. She helped grow the company into a $14 million operation with over 100 employees and then sold the business in 2008 to take a break for what she fondly calls "temporary retirement". During this break she has had the opportunity to focus more on her community, her children and her hobbies.
She is currently involved with the Tampa General Hospital Foundation and co-chairing the yearly Gala Fundraiser event. Building and renovating houses has been a hobby for over 10 years. She also enjoys skiing, camping and traveling with her family.
